Rose Foundation Grant Awarded to Friends of Shollenberger Park

A $4000 grant has been awarded to Friends of Shollenberger Park in the foundation's Summer 2011 funding cycle of the Northern California Environmental Grassroots Fund.

The grant supports our community-based effort to litigate and stop the Dutra asphalt factory and protect our park, wetlands, wildlife and citizens. The Dutra asphalt factory was approved in December 2010 by the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors.

This is the second grant awarded from the Rose Foundation to support our grassroots community effort. This expression of support will strengthen our ability to continue and to fundraise for extraordinary legal expenses the community will bear to protect our community and our environment.

Friends of Shollenberger was one of 18 statewide grant recipients announced on June 11, 2011.

We thank the Rose Foundation for their continued support and expression of confidence in the direction and intentions of Friends of Shollenberger Park.

    Now the beauty of this park will be increasing by spending $4000 on its repairing or working. I think these parks are assets of our freshness when we feel bored. After completing the marketing for dissertation writing services , we decide to spend some time in such beautiful parks where we feel easy.

Community Health Forum Announced

The Petaluma Health Care District has announced a community forum on March 17th to discuss the health impacts of the proposed Dutra asphalt plant. The forum will consist of presentations on health-related issues, followed by a question-answer period. All of the members of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will be invited, along with several other people, including representatives of Dutra and the people who prepared the final environmental impact report. Dutra's Track Record - History in Miami, Florida

In 1994 Dutra Construction Co. began contracted work with the Port of Miami, dredging a section of the shipping channel in Biscayne Bay, a “shallow subtropical lagoon with diverse habitat including mangroves, seagrass beds, and coral reefs.
